Gearing up for the Holiday Season

Being a mother, wife and small business owner is no small task. It is always my goal to keep up with my Etsy shop, reemadesignstudio.etsy.com but that is always quite the challenge. So my small but slowly growing jewelry business is starting to get mroe recognition on and off Etsy, which makes me really happy.

Reemadesignstudio has been featured in the topetsyfinds.blogspot.com and traffic to my site has increased through relisting many of my items. Off Etsy I have made sales though I'm not where I want to be. So what happens next and how do I keep the momentum? Work work and more work. That's right! I have started planning and designing my new collection which is to debut in the next two weeks. My plan is to increase my listings by at least 50 items! How and when I am going to do this, I don't know yet, but I do know my ambition always sees me through.

On the mommy side of my life, my two babies have just gotten their first colds of the season. I know they are sick but my nerves get really bad when they are not 100%. I have spent the last few days giving them lots of extra love and hugs and kisses. They are the cutest and sweetest children a mom could ask for. Now, if only I could protect them from germs!

Stay tuned!

Adventures in Etsy World

So last year I decided to join the ETSY community and sell my designs on their website. I didn't know what I was getting into but I joined and spent months researching the site and browsing the forums and various shops. Initially, I was overwhelmed with all it takes to run a business from home, but after reading the profiles and Quit Your Day Job stories of countless ETSY success stories, I felt a sense of calm.

Prior to opening my shop, reemadesignstudio.etsy.com, I had participated in designer markets in New York City (Artist and Fleas, Brooklyn Indie Market my favs). There I learned a lot about commitment to artistry and how to develop your business skills. When I opened my shop for business online, I didn't realize how much competition there is on ETSY and how much it takes to get buyers to notice you. What I have been doing is renewing my listings often and participating in the category showcases. Sales have been slow but through Google Analytics I can tell traffic to reemdesignstudio.etsy.com has increased. Now, what can I do to make all that traffic translate to sales?
